why do they keep saying 50/50 removes 2 random wrong answers? It nearly always leaves the 2 that you think it's between anyway. It cannot be random.

Did you see the young guy (a financial auditor who also sets quizzes) who used every lifeline to get to £2000. I was gobsmacked that he didn't know which airline was founded in Australia and thought it might be Ryanair!!! Then fair enough if he didn't know which King signed Magna Carta so phones a friend with a history degree and he wasn't that sure either. The mind boggles.
It leaves the two that YOU think it's between, Tora.

The rest of us? Well...........................:-)
Blimey, Prudie - that's embarrassing!

prudie: "Then fair enough if he didn't know which King signed Magna Carta so phones a friend with a history degree and he wasn't that sure either."
doesn't suprise me, history curriculum these days consists mainly of the evils of the British Empire and TGL.
I believe they have an adjudicator to ensue the 50/50 is random. I agree it often seems to leave the two likelier ones, but I guess we forget about the other times.
I hope the current guy does well. I’ll have to watch it later, so I’ll leave this thread to avoid spoilers.

If I don't know the answer, 9 times out of 10 I can predict which 2 50/50 will leave so really for me most questions out of 2.
It can’t be random 50/50 of course but random one out of three - plus one. I must say I always used to think as Tora does but maybe it’s an illusion.
I agree with TTT, it can't really be random deletion... as the two most likely answers always seem to remain.
It's actually typical of the VBQ and whatever else to undermine the self worth of citizens just to save a million sovs by showing them how they should have (of)? stuck in at skool instead ov cracking wise for da claaasss.

Stupid is as stupid does.
no no douglas, they do stay at school but it's the socialist teechers who teech the wrong stuff.
Prudie 21:51 Sun, the mind did indeed boggle. Incredible.
Teachers teach the curriculum - they don't really get a choice.
With regard to the Magna Carta, legend has it that it was never signed as King John was illiterate.
Apparently he put his seal upon it as was done in them there days.
As a member of the royal family, he would have the best education available at the time, so the legend that he was illiterate cannot possibly be true.
