Series 2? Oh yes please - still need answers to some questions.

I ended up getting more and more hooked (I had also had a suspicion about the prim daughter right at the start). It did also have an element of watcher in the woods that I mentioned back on another thread. So murders resolved apart from the 2 missing children. Quite happy that it has been left as something supernatural (don't get the bit at the end with the shard of stone and the detective seeing the wolf and seeming to not be phased by it).

I think, Prudie, that we were being left to decide whether the children had been taken by a supernatural being or a pack of wolves. The 'other-worldly' element also popped up in the discussion in Adam's car with the ballerina's dad. He said that by committing the rape they had raised evil that day. Then referenced his eldest daughter, Rosalind, as being the evil they had raised.

I really enjoyed watching it until it got right to the end and we still didn't know what happened to the kids, and we still didn't get to know who Lexi was.

The supernatural bit must have gone straight over my head, I just thought Adam/Rob was having a breakdown.

The thing is though there aren't any wolves in Ireland. Can you clarify - the 3 boys involved in the rape in the 60s were - the tramp, the big thuggish guy and the third was who (the father?)

I'm glad it's all over. I found it irritatingly confusing and only watched it to the end hoping for some clarity.

How did the weird sister killer know about the detective being Adam? I know she said he'd given her enough clues but I must have missed that bit.
The Cassie/Lexi thing is still confusing and whose baby was Cassie having?

Dan (I think, the one Cassie shot) said something like 'meeting your doppelganger can ruin lives'

I'd assumed the baby was Adam's

I'd like to know how she knew he was Adam.

Tilly, she slept with Rob and the beardy detective, so probably on of them is the father

I assumed she was pregnant by the other policeman, the one she was in a relationship with (I'm rubbish with names)

Just looked at the synopses for the 6 book series and noweher does it tell us how the real Lexy came to be. It says she is Cassie's doppleganger whose name is the same as one which Cassie used while undercover in a previous case. Which is how it was portrayed in the tv series. So, just coincidence then?
Also, if there are to be any more series and they are taken from the books, do not expect to see Cassie and Adam again. The other books feature different detectives, though the undercover handler is featured in one.

We all seem to be rubbish with remembering names. These are the only 2/4 I know:- Cassie/Lexi and Rob/Adam. :-)

True Tilly but, if the writers so wished, they could invent a scenario whereby he could be helping Cassie in a non-official capacity. Like i said though, not if they adhere to the books.

The Lexie thing is a further nod to the supernatural. Lexie was the name Cassie used for her imaginary friend that manifested after her childhood car accident so yes it was a huge coincidence that her doppelganger was also called Lexie - or was she? On the box of her ashes she was labelled Jane Doe (ie an unknown).

I think I'm going to have to read the books. That'll keep me going until Christmas.

The other Lexie bumped into one of the students who mistook her for Cassie - who was working undercover as a student called Lexie - and the student called her Lexie and also later said her second name too. The doppelgänger then took on this name as her identity and moved in with the students. We weren’t told who she really was.

Cassie played an undercover role at an university, she called her character Lexie after her imaginary friend.
One of the men from the university bumped into another girl, identical in looks to Cassie/Lexie. He assumed her to be Lexie and said that she semmed to have vanished for a time but that it would be easy for her to re-enroll in uni.
This new girl did enroll in Lexies name and in effect became Lexie and went through uni and joined the household.
