Toys are displayed in areas of similar things surely. And children are drawn to the areas that interest them. I can't find anything that triggered this thread either. As this is in media, I'm presuming there was something on television or radio that Bobbie saw or heard, so legislation isn't the issue.

My mum still remembers getting a balloon in her stocking once- already inflated:-)

I’d love to give you BA for just lightening it up Retro, fact , I will, haha
Sorry Bobbie, I don't understand your remark. I didn't read right through, only that people were mentioning legislation.
And I always wanted a train set, but never got one!

It doesn’t really matter, was only my opinion anyway

I must have likeminded friends , I posed the same question to them on FB, they all had their opinions and gave the reason , I certainly wouldn’t expect anyone to just agree with mine but as I’ve said, I walk on a minefield here, good job I’m a stubborn cow, hahaha
You have to be here, really ;-)
Thanks Bobbiesox. I thought there were some usual sourness creeping in . Ho Ho Ho.

Seems like a smart move from the supplier. They now have toys that could appeal to all genders, thus increasing their potential clientele.

Mozz, you’re likely right but everyday we hear this stuff.....and that’s what my OP was supposed to reflect
My sister's probably wondered where their Barbie and Sindy dolls disappeared too, on occasions.
My Action Man ( with real hair, no less ) was the guilty party, playing (Army) Doctors and Nurses. :-)

Crossfire, Subbuteo, Striker, Meccano, Arnold Palmer's Pro Shot Golf, Lego, Ker Plunk and more....oh and a Chopper bike I still have in our garage, which my kids used to ride too....great memories, Bobbi

And very nice reading them Yogi x
i only hear it every day here - not in real life. i suppose as one gets older it becomes harder to understand the world, but it was ever thus. Those young people today will be thinking the same sort of things about the world when they get older, and whatever the current trends are then.
it's rather akin to older people thinking modern music is terrible :)
Question Author
You could well be right bednobs
I don't think so, bednobs. Older people are very used to changes and many have been positive... as they are really about acceptance for everyone.

This is the opposite and what is disappointing is that some of a younger generation, who you would think would be forward-looking and open-minded.... are following the most old-fashioned and outdated concept they can find. In a different guise this time round, but the same principle.

I’m just accepting answers ....and agreeing now Pix, haha
