It is good to see various interpretations - the Cruise film wasn't brilliant but did have some merits - and last night's opener was okay. I think it will be interesting to see how we get from the space ships landing to Amy and son looking for George.
Slow start but at least it follows the story of the book. I think the charm of it is its a bit 'Victorian' what do people expect? Either it sticks to the original story or goes all star wars and I know which I prefer. At the time there was a political sub text and if you get over the 'Doctor Who' effect (which I don't agree with anyway) there are some interesting observations of the political mood at the end of the 19th Century. As for horses 'speaking' English -I must have missed the talking horse...…………...
Douglas -my three horses all understand English words as do most animals whose owners speak English. I tell my dog to sit it sits, I tell my horse to move over -it moves over! I once had a horse in my care that came from Germany and you had to give it commands in German until it understood the English ones -clever things animals,,,,,,
