but no doubt will be accused of it! On TV last night I noticed just how many gay couples were shown kissing (including in adverts) yet the amount of straight couples shown kissing during the same programmes/adverts was minimal. Do tv companies really think it is being pc to make a point of showing them kissing? Before anyone suggests I have a problem with this, yes I do - but not just gay couples I hate seeing public displays of affection from anyone!

I’ve noticed it too lankeela, it’s like they’re trying ‘too hard’

I think the intention is to leave the viewer in no doubt of the relationship between the couple. You WILL like it!
it's how I feel too, think the "gayness" is being rammed down our throats a little too much. Also I feel that when the rainbow pride flag is being flown everywhere - where is the hetereosexual flag being flown.
again I don't want to be homophobic as I do know some lovely people but at the beginning of time when creation was begun, if there had have been Adam and Steve, and Eve and Niamh/Neeve none of us would be here today.
I know there is an increase in gay affection on TV, in ads and in dramas, and I guess heterosexual people notice it because it looks different to us, which it is, and because it has not been seen until reasonably recently.

I would never suggest that raising the subject and putting your point should leave you open to accusations of homophobia -

I don't like seeing gay people kiss on television - fine

I don't like seeing gay people kiss on television because they all ought to be burnt! - not fine.

I don't like PDA's either, but I am happy to accept that the world around me is changing and becoming more tolerant of different relationships, which I am entirely in favour of, and that such changes are always going to be reflected in art- which means tv, radio, films etc.

None of us like everything we see - that's what makes us unique, and expressing a view, even a less than positive one, is your right in our free society.
Agree with Bobbs and naomi.
I haven't noticed.

My OH holds my hand, kisses me in public (not full on snogging) he opens doors for me, pulls out chairs for me to sit..all in all a perfect gent.

Why can't same sex couples be the same?

My son is gay. I would like him to be able to walk down the street holding his boyfriends hand, just like me and his dad do, without people judging.

I don't think your opinions are homophobic in any way whatsoever.
I cannot abide to see two men kissing. It makes my physically gag.

Far too much of it in all the soaps now.
It's the latest marketing bandwagon.
I may not watch the same programmes and adverts as others, I too haven't noticed any great increase though there may well have been.

To me it's a part of life and of course it will depend on what your family and social circle is - I don't like anything too gratuitous but if it fits the plot or message, that's fine.
I can honestly say I hadn't noticed
yeah my mother couldnt stand it when Pres Carter ( yup him) held hands with his wife in public
( was that the steel magnolia or was that someone else?)

gay couples have a high-ish joint income so if it for interestingly shaped candles, or things with a lot off grease, then you would expect them to appeal to such a group....
not homophobic of course
// it's how I feel too, think the "gayness" is being rammed down our throats a little too much. //

yes Geoffrey Dickinson MP in parliament deplored 'compulsory lesbianism on thursday afternoons being thrust down skoolkids' throats"

er and how right he was ! - it turns out he was adopted and abused in care so he kinda had special knowledge
Which are these adverts featuring gay couples kissing Lankeela?
It bothers me not where a gentleman parks his pudding but I too am fed up of having it shoved down my throat.
;-)
...it's simply to make up for all those years that gay people were never even represented in soaps and adverts...let alone kissing. There's a lot of catching-up to do!
And, of course, straight couples kissing on TV makes gays physically sick, too.
There is some catching up to do... and that people are even noticing it, just proves it
The fundamental things apply, as time goes by.
I've noticed an increase in both same sex and multi racial couples on TV. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, I quite like the fact it that it makes people uneasy (even more so if it "makes your skin crawl”, you sound like the kind of closed-minded person he deserves it).

It's a great big, weird, diverse world out there. Our Grandparents probably felt the same about black faces on TV, moving forward is the natural way of things. These things will be the norm for future generations.
Nothing makes my skin crawl Mozz, my input was to say I’d seen an increase
