Unbelivable And Disgusting Advice

The managing director of Whirlpool made washing machines this morning on TV gave this advice to people with a possible faulty washing machine or dryer, bearing in mind they are a potential fire bomb, either unplug it, or lower the temperature to 20 degrees if you use it.

Who in their right mind would risk using an appliance knowing it could go up in flames. Would he carry on using one in his home, and possibly put his family at risk? Is he going to take responsibility should a fire still happen when using it at 20 degrees.

There is no time plan for any replacement, or repair if you have one, in other words tuff.
It was said that this company is to big and powerful to be forced into early action, their web site as gone down ( that's handy) another case of profit before lose of life.

can I be inflammatory and comment - it seems obvious that you shouldnt do your washing or drying in the stairway .....

yeah OK someone is really gonna whine about that one

I don't think they were doing anything they shouldn't have done on the stairway of Grenfell tower was they PP ?

I believe I may be the first person to discover the problem with the tumble dryers. Over the years I have always regularly inspected the belt on T/D's and on one inspection I noticed a build up of fluff around the switches and connectors. I e mailed Hotpoint about this but never got a reply. The problem is the piping system from the filter to the outlet isn't sealed properly allowing the fluff to be blown into the machine where it accumulates around the electrics. Now I clean the filter every time it's used and about every six weeks switch it off, remove the top lid, there's only two screws at the back and vacuum all the fluff and dust from the inside the housing. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for it to be repaired or replaced but I'm guessing the planned obsolescence will have kicked in before that happens.

their big mistake was putting their faith in Dany doo-dah - I hadnt realised she had done so badly at the hearings. "if it shouldnt happen, then you cant be trained for it"

anyone reading this, for the NHS, we are trained for all sorts of things that shouldnt happen.

1973 (yes that long ago) medical students asked for shotgun and explosive training - (no not how to set them off, but what to do after they have been set off) and they sent us off to Millbank ( Army Hospital)- which was kinda lucky ( not luck really is it) for the 1976 IRA campaign

if you can show this
then Hotpoint have to pay for all damage following a fire

( being told of a fault and running the risk)

sort of negligence has already been shown
