Caroline Flack - Were The Press Really To Blame?

Masses of people on social media blaming the tabloid press for the tragic suicide of Caroline Flack, but can anyone explain in what way(s) the press were to blame - examples of articles would be helpful. I didn’t know the lady but she seemed to enjoy the spotlight as much as most celebrities....until the incident with her boyfriend. Is the suggestion that the press shouldn’t have reported on that and her consequent court appearance? Isn’t it their job to report on such incidents? I can’t help feeling that If they stopped such reporting, they’d stop selling papers....which may well be what the tabloid haters want.

People are pointing the finger at them who they say sent her a letter saying they are pressing ahead with their prosecution for ‘allegedly’ abusing her boyfriend, the letter came to her on Valentines Day it was said although why that should make a difference ?
He spoke sense, he said it’s their job to bring to justice reported incidents of domestic violence , if they didn’t then they’d be failing the victims

Ken,I am not signing the petition. It is purely for those who think the press was wrong.
Let's not forget, celebrity or not, she whacked her boyfriend over the head with a heavy lamp WHILST he was sleeping. Suppose he had died??

It's tragic, no matter what. I don't think the press can be blamed- anything could be a trigger for someone with depression and anxiety, and I don't think the CPS should ignore cases either, in case the accused is "troubled".
I think people looking to be celebrities out of choice (including the other two from Love Island, who committed suicide) will already be more vulnerable. They are looking for and relying on public approval and popularity far more than most people, which sadly, can swing the other way just as easily.

It would be useful if they were only allowed to report the truth. Unproven allegations etc, should maybe need to be proven first.

They used to report the news and you had to decide what to think.

Maybe the problem is the sheer amount of news outlets, you have many online outlets then you have the solid papers, then social media ads then you've got the papers websites. If all the outlets reported on it only once then there would be a mountain of content all about her. Must have been hard for her (evidently).
It's a very complex issue with no one at fault yet everyone at blame.

It doesn't help when crime scene photographs are leaked to the press? More so than blaming the press (who are far from blameless, but not the main culprits here), those responsible for those leaks need to be found out.
Social media has a lot to answer for too. The amount of trolling and plain vicious bullying that goes on there is hideous. I left all social media because of my mental health, and it has improved drastically as a result.
