One contestant missed out on £8000 by 2 seconds against Paul Sinha.
When asked a question he was unsure of Paul uttered God!!, before giving the correct answer. Why wasn’t this taken as a wrong answer.
Contestants have begun to utter wrong names in the past, and Bradly has dismissed that answer and gone on to the next question.

"Why wasn’t this taken as a wrong answer?"

Because it clearly wasn't an answer!
Is it likely he or anyone else thought God was the son of "Johnny Boy" Soprano?
Can't help wondering about some of the correct answers Chasers give to some really obscure facts.Do they really know all this stuff ,or?
God can be anything, surely.
Heck, God's even his own son, his own father, not to mention his own holy spirit.
Grumpy, they are world class quizzers who spend all their time studying facts, so I would imagine that they really do know the answers.
I often think the same thing, grumpy. Shaun rattles off dates of kings, queens and everyone as if he’s got the Encyclopaedia Brittanica in his head (or Wikipedia - how old am I?). However, the Chasers do admit when they just don’t know something, so I don’t think they’ve got a wire in their ear.

Bob, I don’t think ‘God’ could be taken as an answer. They’d have to take ‘Um’ or ‘Er’ as an answer too.
There was a guy on the winning side on University Challenge last night who knew almost everything. Some people can retain seemingly trivial information better than others and the Chasers are a prime example.
My Son once accused me of being the ultimate cynic, perhaps he's correct.
I've been told that I have a dustbin mind, it keeps all kinds of rubbish, which is useful for Trival Pursuit and the pub quiz!
On last night's Poointless a question revolving around the Commonwealth elicited answers of France, Greece and the Marshall Islands.
It was such a shame that Danny didn't win...2 seconds!
I had my fingers crossed for him.
If the last contestant has gone for what she had earned, they definitely would have beaten the Chaser. Silly girl. :))
who could refuse the big money though... some obviously can't..
She almost won. :-)
i know, i was watching it, willing her on..
Going for the higher offer you only need one wrong and your under real pressure.
