I may look on +1. Watching the Dragons telling poor entrepreneurs off.
Question Author
From the pen of Julian Fellowes , he of Downton Abbey fame
Found it a bit trying to get into it but stuck with it as may develop, not sure about Philip Glenister in this period drama, he is a great actor but not convincing in this role.
I agree about Glenister, carib, but Tamsin Grieg's good. Where was the son Oliver when they were in Brussels in 1815?
With a nanny no doubt. They had money but not titled.
Quite enjoyed the first episode. Think it will develop into a nice Sunday evening period drama.
will watch on i player, looks promising
I watched nearly all of it, but was distracted when daughter Sophia ( I thought they were calleing her Saphire) told her mama she was enciente. How did she explain that ?
Did anyone think that composer John Lunn had recycled some of his Downton music?
Need to watch this on catch up. Forgot it was on!
Isn't Oliver Sophie's child, so he wasn't around during Waterloo? Her parents have brought him up as their son, used to happen a lot, that was my interpretation anyway.
Wish my late MIL had still been around when we found some of the skeletons in her sainted mother's cupboard!
I admit I wasn't convinced by how they "aged" in 26 years. Assuming she was about 34-36 with a daughter that was 16 and pregnant...she did not come across as 60+ later. And Phillip Glenister was little changed also.
It will be interesting to see how the story pans out over the next few weeks.
Oliver was Sophie’s brother. Sophie’s child was only seen at his birth. Episode 2 (26 years later) will introduce us to Sophie’s son. I think Mrs Trenchard (Tamsin Greig), against her husband’s wishes, will tell Lady Brockenhurst that she has a grandson.
