I hope she did, he is a nasty piece of work.

The way they stretch things out maybe it'll be that he'll go missing and make her think he has killed himself and it's her fault

No ff it didn't look like that, there was a bit of a scuffle between them but I couldn't work out what was going on.

A couple of days ago I was reading a post that linked to one of the tabloids and I saw the spoiler about the OP and read it. So I won't say any more but there is something else that was shocking ... which I'll keep to myself. I think, we might have to wait until the beginning of May before we see that episode.

If that unfolds, no doubt there will be a new saga about her trial.
I think this storyline does a disservice to victims' understanding of what constitutes bullying, etc., because it maybe gives the impression that things need to be as bad as that, as ridiculous as that, before it constitutes abuse. There is always the danger that over-the-top, drawn-out storylines in soaps verge on satire. Apart from the conjuring-box prison and killing the pet chicken, the fact that he conned her into handing over her bank cards was quite enough controlling behaviour to be getting on with.
Forget that Yasmeen has morphed from a sometimes feisty neighbour into a wimp-in-love. Her situation and (presumably) possible trial raises a serious issue about nowhere-to-turn victims.
The concept of the balance of one's mind being disturbed usually refers to suicides. Should there be a defence (not a mitigation but an exonerating defence) along the lines of "a permanent state of terror"? Just a thought.

Bilsuth, there is a defence now. Being a victim of coercive control can be used as a defence for murder or assault. There was recent case where a woman was released after serving time for killing her husband after appealing with this new law.
Perhaps that is where the storyline will go, so that more people are aware of it.

Hi Chelle. Good, if that's the case but it is not well known. I don't think Corrie writers are enlightened enough for such a useful message.
They are a lazy lot -- look at the overuse of eavesdropping and other convenient devices.

When it comes to really serious issues like this one they usually do their research carefully, speaking to experts etc

Ladybirder, I don't mean to spoil it for anyone but do you mean shocking in connection to the dress that she is wearing in that scene?

I hope she doesn't murder him as another murder in Corrie is just taking things OTT. I do know the story line on this but I won't say in case it spoils it for some, but I hope Yasmeen will just get arrested for assault and then when the full story comes out about him and what he's been doing, he will be banished from the street for good.

Chelle is right. Coercive Control is now an offence in law and quite well know I think. Well, to women anyway!! You would be surprised how much some people will put up with especially if they have children and nowhere to go. Yasmeen doesn't have children to worry about, knows he's seeing other women, has help at hand and still won't leave so I'm losing all sympathy for her now. If he had killed my chicken he'd have been straight in the oven himself.

No Ellie, that's not what I was alluding to. But that picture says a million words to me and I guess to you as well. She looks most unhappy, it's not what she would choose to wear so I conclude he's forced her to dress like one of his "escorts".
