Bobbi, the one I always remember is Jim Dale. He had some average roles in Carry Ons, but he acted with the National Theatre, won awards on Broadway, wrote the song Georgy Girl, got into the charts himself as a singer, and is known to American kids for reading the Harry Potter audiobooks.

Nobody else in Carry Ons was ever that successful in the wider world.

Similarly Herman’s Hermits lead singer Peter Noone went to the states and carved out a producing career there, so did Eric Burdon of the Animals
