Ruth was on Loose Women I think last Monday and she was happily crying she won over £30,000 - think it was £33,000 for her charity the previous Saturday on Alan Carr's game show.

I watched that but did think it had been pre-recorded before the Pandemic as nobody on the game show was social distancing.

What did happen - thanks

Yes, I believe it was filmed before lockdown but obviously they won't discuss it before it's aired - it would spoil it for the viewers.

ok thanks Mamy
Lots of TV is recorded months in advance. If they're not doing the distancing thing it's either a recording from months ago, or a repeat.
The show was recorded before recent events, which explains why one winner might have quite a wait before being able to take up their prize:

That, of course, assumes that they've not already taken advantage of it, as the programmes were actually recorded during July and August last year:

PS: Am I the only person here who's never heard of Ruth Langsford up until now?
I'd say you're one of the very few
Who ?
Is she a writer?

By no means, but anyone who watches daytime tv regularly will recognise her - she is on several daytime tv shows.
She's Mrs Eamonn Holmes isn't she?
She's a very famous celeb, known for 1)stealing Eamonn Holmes from an earlier wife, 2) lots of down-market TV shows and 3) selling over-priced tat (sorry, that's exclusive designer label couture) on cheap shopping channels. Never heard of her....where you bin?
My own fault, bin in the real world, not memorising (daytime) celeb names.

gingebee - she never stole Eamonn Holmes, Eamonn knew the "big work" ie journalism per se was in London, England and he asked his wife and children to go with him - she said no, that's how Ruth met him.
