I have no objections to same-sex couples on these shows but then again, I haven't watched them in over 10 years (apart from the odd glimpse during channel switching).
If it happens, I will be interested to see how they manage the judging. Same sex ballroom dancing has its own rules. Both partners must lift and be lifted in routines with lifts in and the lead must change during the dance. Not at all difficult when both dancers are professionals but much more of a challenge in a pro celeb contest, especially lifts. If the dancers are judged as though they are boy/girl pairings, this would make the contest equal but would mean that the same sex team would have to decide who would do what and stick with it thoughout the contest which would be much less of a "sensation"
Bobbi, originally the Argentine tango was a dance for two men...in public anyway...and not necessarily gay men, it was kind of a "fight" dance. These men are twins.
