Following the news that the presenter Sue Barker and team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell are being axed from A Question Of Sport, there is much speculation online that their replacements will be “people of colour”...though admittedly that is yet to be confirmed. If it does turn out to be the case, is that not racism against Caucasian people - firing them because they are white?

I think this is all part and parcel of the BBC’s £100 million initiative to increase diversity - and I don’t believe for a moment that Theblip is guilty of possessing a fevered imagination, as charged. If this is the case why change it and I wonder what "new direction" the programme could go in. How do you radically change a sports quiz programme ,where the presenter asks questions and the team answer questions, on sport. Will the newcomers all be on unicycles?

I have heard a rumour, though it is unconfirmed, that half the British Athletics team is made up of people of colour. I have even seen one or two footballers and boxers who are decidedly pigmentary challenged.
