I mean they only seem to have three subjects that they seem to find amusing, Trump, Boris and brexit. What are they going to do now, these right on comedians that infest the BBC and Channel 4? Perhaps they should try and broaden their appeal outside their London centric narrow virtue signalling view point and start actually making the rest of the country laugh.

we used to listen to the Goons, Navy Lark Clitheroe Kid and Round the Horn, how they got away with some of it i will never know....
I've only seen Milton Jones on MTW, and he is great. Very self-deprecating.
i have seen in on and off for years, he is like Eddie Izzard somewhat, very surreal
"Margo, there were some brilliant radio comedies back in the day, if you like The Goons. Navy Lark and Round The Horne are also absolutely wonderful. "
don't forget the most wonderful Im sorry i'll read that again
Emmie, they'd never get away with Julian and Sandy nowadays!
lots of people didn't understand it, Polari had a lot to answer for......
personally i loved it, not sure about now, as i rarely listen to the wireless, lol
Yeah, we've always made great panel shows over here. Just A Minute, Heresy, ISIHAC... all brilliant.
indeed.
Bednobs I loved all those back In my youth and by strange coincidence I listened to a Julian and Sandy sketch this morning in bed! I always remember my old English teacher asking us if we realised that 'ken' meant knowledge. We were tickled pink that an old dear like her listened to Beyond our Ken. Really old fashioned with round wire glasses, floral dress, grey bun and brogue shoes.

And what have we learnt ?

That what one finds funny and makes one laugh is very subjective

I see people roaring with laughter at a comedian and I'm thinking , what the heck is funny about him/her

I prefer the old school comedians like Ken
Dodd- now he makes me laugh

Like I said it's subjective
it is, but makes for an interesting discussion.
All taste is subjective Baz. I know there are loads of sitcoms that I find as funny as dirt, but are immensely popular.
i can't find many sitcoms funny, My Family ran for years but was incredibly dull and slooow.
There are very few Sitcoms that stand up to repeat viewing Emms. Fawlty Towers, Young Ones, Father Ted, Blackadder, Spaced all spring to mind, but they're few and far between.
> The "dogging" monologue was the funniest thing I've heard on TV in years, but way too NSFW to repost on here.

It starts at 28:33 ...

Ricky Gervais, brilliant for me...
Jeez can't believe I forgot Ricky Gervais. He's the tops.
Liked Ronnie Barker as well.
I like Ricky Gervais too. I found the Two Ronnies et al predictable, unfunny and obvious. But my parents liked them.
That made me laugh Dagman.
