One thing we must remember is that politicians know full well that all interviews are 'on the clock'. Therefore, when they are asked a question they particularly don't want to answer truthfully, they adapt their default setting of party mantra. And the interviewer will instantly recognise this within the first few words of the answer. So they cut to the chase, so to speak, and repeat the question. True, some do come across as rude, when they do it, but the politicians can be just as rude by their complete disregard for the questions asked. In my most humble opinion, of course.
