Anyone remember it from the early seventies? Presenters were Fred Dinage, Jon Miller, Jack Hargreaves and Bunty James, I loved it, watched it every week. Dont know how this new version will compare.
Any programme which sets out to educate the young is to be applauded, imo. However, the original series was well before the age of computers and the like. I expect children can google their way through such questions if they are curious enough.
Tomorrow's World might look equally out of place now.
Choux, Tomorrow's World told of thing to come, in the near and distant future, How! told us why arrows fly as they do and why safety matches are safer, stuff like that.
There was a second run called How 2 with Carol Vorderman as one of the presenters. That ran for 16 years until 2006. The latest series was supposed to start last month but probably COVID delayed it
Entirely of its time in terms of production, presentation and information - today's kids would laugh it off the screen, unless it is seriously updated.
They wont be allowed to say 'how' with their hand raised in the manner of a native American like they used to, heaven forbid, its cultural appropriation dont you know, they would be banned from tv forever.
The original How was aimed at children who actually went out and did things.
Probably would not have any influence on the current "hand starers" who only do what their mobile phones tell them to do....like.
