Is There Anything Worse Than To Be Woken Up With A Hysterical Phone Call?

Don't get me wrong , I felt very sorry for my friend, her husband passed away last August , her heating has gone off and water was pouring from the boiler I'm afraid she's the hysterical type and I could hardly understand her on the phone, I calmed her down and rang the man that services our boiler each year ,he went round hers and he's dealing with it but Oh my head aches, I hope the day gets better :0/

To answer your question literally... there was one time I went to a client's house, let myself in, and because it had been raining, the bottle of milk delivered outside, slipped out of my hand and broke over the kitchen floor.
Imagine being 94, blind, with dementia, bad hips and living on your own... and waking up to the sound of breaking glass. Still feel bad about it!

PLeased you managed to help her out. For me a phone call at unusual hours would be worse say between Midnight and five am.

Oh poor woman, that's terrible, I really did feel for my friend though, he husband did everything and she hasn't a clue on much, mind you if I were on my own and my heating went awry I'd have to ring my son-in-law law I suppose , she has no family at all

Errrmmm...cat pooh on a dark carpet isn't very nice. At least I didn't step in it. That was yesterday.

Today it's waking up to discover yesterday's events in Washington was not a bad dream. Still in shock.

It was one of those phone calls when your in a deep sleep ( around 7am) I'm a good sleeper :0)

Glad it's getting sorted nothing worse than water leaking with the mess it can make. We often get calls in the middle of the night for the local care service as our number is almost the same as theirs.

Thanks Pasta, yes heating on albeit a temporary fix as water has damaged some wiring but he's coming back, I haven't really watched the News as yet, we rarely have our TV on during the day only for the JV show on channel5 but didn't see that as I was dealing with getting friends heating sorted

We often take the persons name then phone the firm and tell them as they did need help and are often confused.

if someone phoned me at seven i wouldn't like it, but can understand her panic if she hasn't done stuff for herself, hopefully that it gets sorted.

We actually have a very leaking radiator in the hallway, since this morning. It didn't occur to me to have hysterics at someone else first. Maybe she needs a list of phone numbers, with who to ring in different situations?

I'd like to think I'd wait until 9am to phone anyone. But water everywhere can certainly raise panic levels.

Many years ago our phone number was only two digits different from the Samaritans which caused some strange phone calls,I patiently listened during one such call before explaining they had the wrong number,there was a long silence before he said “Oh,I see you fat baldy b astard”, what really shook me was,HOW DID HE KNOW.
