Nobody knows. All we know is that he works for the waterboard so you haven't missed an episode.

I've been thinking about this and I suppose it would be possible if the water company can drastically affect the water table. Push a lot of extra water below the surface then suddenly drain it off. How though is beyond me.

I haven't watched Corrie for years but I had to check out the answers and still don't know how Rays hiree caused the sink hole in David's garden! Will keep my eye open for further suggestions. LOckdown...a way of making people interested in stuff they previously had no interest in!! Did David fall down the hole??? No don't answer...I will be forced to start watching it again!

How do you cause a sinkhole? A mystery to me, I think it was just randomly done as a story line, I know Ray hired the guy to do it, he wasn't best please with him after he had done it, but how did he do it? Like you i am mystified?

Sinkholes appear when the ground below has been removed...either by nature eg undergraund streams or rivers or through tunnelling.
