" - Yep stage Fright, that was the genius of John Suyllivan, he takes most of the episode to set that joke up! When you first watch it it's magic but re watch it and there are little clues to what's coming. Eg early on when Tony is singing Delilah he says "push down the door" instead of "Bweak down the door"! He also says he can only sing certain songs. I think Derek Pope really did the singing on that episode to.
The one that made me laugh the most first time round was the chandelier one but it's not quite so funny once you know what's going to happen. Like others, have a lot of favourites but probably the stand out is the watch auction scene. I have it recorded and never tire of it, so funny when Rodney faints backwards.
The Yellow Peril has it all with knock off paint that turns out to be luminous, and they painted the Chinese restaurant kitchen with it ... and their mam's grave. Still makes me laugh. They also had fun with paint in another episode when the decorated Denzils flat and though they had gassed the canary. Another classic.
well it's relative but my least favourite ones are the ones after "Time on our hands" - the worst one being "If they could see us now" the one with Jonathan Woss and the game show. I think TOOH was originally meant to be the last episode but they got brought back and it all seemed wrong somehow. Although TBF I do like the actual last episode; "Sleepless in Peckham"
