Youtubes Crashing On Smart Tv
34 Answers
I can watch YouTubes on my PC without ads & and hinderance, but when I try to watch, them on my smart (Panasonic) TV, I'm not only interrupted by ads but it crashes out of the YouTube app completely, this can happen if I let the ads run their course or if I use the 'skip adds' sign.
Does anyone else experience this & do you think they are trying to wear me out into paying for their adds free facility?

Sadly, it looks like a case of "9 year-old TV, YouTube no longer supported". Nothing new either, according to this article: https://conv ersation.whi ch.co.uk/tec hnology/smar t-tv-samsung -youtube-app /

If needs be you should be able to 'cast' youtube vids from your pc, tablet, or smartphone to your tv so that you can watch them on the bigger screen. Works very well

Khandro, the TX-24FSW504 should be fine - only 3 years old, so it doesn't appear in the "Notice of termination of YouTube app on some old models" which lists models from 2014 and earlier:

Khandro, or try 'casting' - it really is quick and easy.
You could also buy something like an Amazon Fire Stick that plugs in to your tv
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
Cheaper than a new tele

barry: I've recently subscribed to a Surfshark VPN so I will be able to get things like BBC i Player, it works on my PC (in my first floor studio) but I haven't yet been able to transfer programmes to my aforementioned smart TV on the ground floor, because I have discovered that the PC doesn't have wi-fi & I may have to install a 'card' into it to do so. (so I'm told), I don't have a smart phone or lap top, - also don't know what bhg means above by a PVR.
As you may gather I'm pretty low-tech, but maybe the firestick will be my salvation !

A PVR is a personal video recorder - a 'dvd' recorder that uses a hard drive to store the recordings. You can buy them, such as a Humax (but I only know about UK channels and recording them), or they can be supplied by your broadband and digital tv supplier (BT, Virgin etc in the UK).
You don't need to open your PC up to connect it to wifi - just buy a cheap dongle that plugs in to a USB port Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Do I need the dongle as well? I do have a Panasonic video recorder connected to the TV already, but not sure where that gets me.
