Did anyone watch this new drama starring Vicky McClure and Adrian Lester last night? If so, what did you think of it? I will stick with it as I think there are many twists and turns in store.

Ellipsis /To
give an early example: going to put the light on/

Exactly! A really silly situation. Even if you weren't in the Bomb Squad any intelligent person in an emergency service wouldn't have done that!

Wonder how many bombs have actually been triggered by switching a light on? :-/

Unconvincing, and a mistake to cast Vicky McClure in a uniformed role very similar to Line of Duty

I agree
Makes it look like a spin off
We watched it.
Love the two main actors in it.
Not sure about it at the moment but hope it gets better as it continues.
Like Ken says, things that made you think , 'well that was careless, stupid', are necessary for the plot.
Will keep watching.
//Makes it look like a spin off//

Exactly, and Jed Mercurio is a producer of this
I suppose she has a mortgage to pay, like most.
I thought it a little slow & lacking excitement.
I didn't find it exiting at all. I didn't have to hide behind cushions!! ;0)
Did twenty five minutes and called it a night.
There was no urgency regarding the bombs, having tea breaks!!
When all’s said and done, it’s a drama, not a documentary about the bomb squad, so we all have to suspend belief a bit instead of picking holes in it if we want to watch and enjoy it.
I would imagine if any of the scenarios in it were too far from reality then the experts, on set to advise, would say so, even if their expert opinion was ignored for the sake of the storyline.
Like I said, I enjoyed it and look forward to watching it for the next few Sundays.
I watched it because I like this type of programme, love Line of Duty and Happy Valley.
Was it a mistake to cast Vicky McClure? Possibly, but she does play that type of part very well.
As I'm still suffering from withdrawal symptoms from the two other progs, I will carry on watching to get my fix of excitement.
far too woke for me
That man in the car boot … if that hood was so easy to pull off when she told him to do it, why didn’t he do it before? I found it all a bit disjointed. I’ll watch the next one and see how it pans out from there.
Naomi, how do we know the guy hadn't been trying to release the catch all the while he was in the boot? Or maybe he was unconscious when placed in the boot and had just come to?
Or maybe not, Ken. If my arms were in front of me I’m
pretty sure my priority would be to remove that hood - even if only to help me locate the lock!
I'm not sure i'd be capable of coherent thought immediately after coming to from unconsciousness. Bad enough when i'm waking from sleep :-)
Maybe, with everything else being controlled remotely, the boot was opened by remote? After all, for maximum impact the suicide vest would need to be outside the vehicle.
does anyone know if is this on ITV Hub because i have logged into ITV and can't find it.
