Did anyone watch this new drama starring Vicky McClure and Adrian Lester last night? If so, what did you think of it? I will stick with it as I think there are many twists and turns in store.

I really like Vicky McClure and Adrian Lester (and Line of Duty) but thought this was a bit rubbish. As bomb disposal officers, they were far too lax and made far too many mistakes ...

Like any TV drama, one man's meat is................ I certainly wasn't disappointed and I think gallows humour would be necessary in a job like that.

I have stuck with The Tourist. After a promising start, it seems to have got bogged down baffling complexity. Maybe the final episode will make things clearer.

Vicky McClure has said she found some of the things seemed counter intuitive until they were explained by the real life ‘expos’ who were on set to advise.

I quite enjoyed this first episode and my only disappointment was that the entire series is not available on the Hub. I have been up close and personal with Felix (the call sign used back in the day) and i can attest to their utmost professionalism and their gallows humour. The mistakes made by the bomb disposal unit were obviously necessary for the plot.
I have also witnessed the unreliability of 'Goliath', the remote controlled robot used by ATO (again back in the day). Though i would assume today's machines are far more reliable than the ones used during the 70s.

Yes, I concede that. If they were as rigorous as they're supposed to be then it wouldn't be great entertainment. But it means that what we instead get is a program about a sloppy bomb disposal unit!

i thought it was utterly naff - one problem, then another, then another, then another, then another.
They telegraphed the end "shock" with such clarity to render it meaningless
