I always quote 'Robinson Crusoe', and with Pavlov-esque memory recall, all AB'ers of a certain age will be lookng into the distance and going "Dah dah dah dah da daaah....." and if you don't know what that means, you are almost certainly under forty!

i used to love a programme called press gang it was great! i think one of the swahilia girls were in it!

Barnaby the Bear's my name
Never call me jack or jane....!

Not to be confused with the 'new' barnaby on cbeebies.

I live near Chorlton where CATW was made (Cosgrove Hall - still there and going strong) and hence gave its name to our dozy hero.

I was a big Pigeon Street fan.

I was also quite into Bod.

I loved Chorlton and the wheelies. My mum had some of that green colour corrective make up and me & my brother thought she used it to dress up as fenella in her spare time.

I loved Chorlton! "Bye bye, little old lady"
I just loved the music. That bass line was quite good. I know it's going to stick in my mind now & I'll be humming it all day. By the way, Chorlton always seemed to be so cheerful.
In my day we had The Herbs with Parsley the lion and Sage the owl, Basil was the gamekeeper and the two children were the Chives. Then there was the peerless Hector's House, "Oh what a silly old Hector I've been." And the Magic Roundabout. When I was three my dad made me a Magic Roundabout for Christmas. It used to spin round and was set on a base which had those funny trees on it. All the characters were there, too. It must have taken him ages to build it. And does anyone remeber the Double Deckers. Doughnut and Brains etc and Melvyn Hayes as the road sweeper. And what a theme tune.
Re Home made Magic Roundabout.
Imagine giving a kid nowadays something you had loving made yourself (unless you are an expert at making computer games consoles!).
I dont think kids in 30 years time will fondly remember that black ipod nano their parents ordered off the internet at the last minute!
