I've watched the series and am convinced the council's decisions were personal, they don't like Clarkson
i dont know why he didnt just appeal the decision that was made on the original application
Planning authorities don't make decisions on a whim; they have to justify any planning decision with by assessing an application by its compliance or non-compliance with democratically adopted policies as set out in a public document qavailable to anyone who wants to know the ground rules. If an application is refused, the applicant can lodge an appeal. All very boring of course. Not really within the ken of those who assume that everyone is as bent, vindictive and daft as they themselves.
There is a comment from Charlie (in the episode where Ckarkson has Covid) which says “you can’t” - the way it comes across is that if it was somebody other than Clarkson then it would be possible.
Thanks, Buenchico.

Some of the decisions make no sense, eg surely he can build a track on his own land! They are clearly being obstructive, petty, it's clear they and the village don't like him.
Tuvok, Clarkson asked Charlie if he knew of any other farmer that had been refused permission to put a track on his own land - the answer was 'no'.

Why not put out 2km of restricted parking cones along a road? Covering farm entrances and bus stops, just to annoy Clarkson, Casserole.
There were 68 letters of objection, some at least of which are well worth reading. Further, some of the 'consultee comments', such as that from Thames Valley Police, were not supportive of the proposals either:
https://publicaccess.westoxon.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=QZRVIVRKI4Z00

(It's worth noting that Thames Valley Police were concerned about a lack of lighting along access routes at the site, whereas the Cotswold Conservation Board were concerned that light from the buildings would intrude into a 'dark sky' environment. Any proposed development within an AONB is bound to meet with such knotty problems).
You're only hearing one side of the argument, the program doesn't give the council a voice.
I've just checked, it's an entertainment programme, made around a man who knows how to push buttons.
It's nothing short of a witch hunt.
I remember this creep expounding about a 'rare delicacy' on WWTBAM once. It was a tiny bird that is kept in a tiny closed box all its short life and killed to be eaten after a short time! Apparently it is delicious and he even stated that it was probably a controversial thing to talk about as not everybody would approve!! He got that right, the vile man. All the things we can eat and he thinks it's ok to portray this torture of a poor captive tiny bird - the man's an utter moron. Well done that Council.
Do you mean the ortolan bunting? Not much different to battery hens, really, except they are prettier, smaller and not as much meat.

Are you saying that council were right to refuse Clarkson planning permission because he is a moron?
Good grief! How long have you been sitting on that bird story?

Excellent crowbar work.
I've just remembered that Gigi had to learn how to eat the ortolan bunting in the film starring Audrey Hepburn
James May supposedly ate them in The Grand Tour but of course he didn't - it was filmed in France where it is now illegal
fitdarren, hardly a balanced view of what we're talking about.
I know a few farmers and many of them have been in bitter disputes over planning, costing them a lot of money.
