Clarkson said if he appealed it would cost him half a million pounds so completely financially unviable.
I've watched his Diddly Squat series and he does highlight some very real issues that farmers have to cope with, he does seem to genuinely care for his animals and yes, much of it is edited for entertainment but that doesn't mean that it is all fiction.
I agree Barry.
//I remember this creep expounding about a 'rare delicacy' on WWTBAM once. It was a tiny bird that is kept in a tiny closed box all its short life and killed to be eaten after a short time! Apparently it is delicious and he even stated that it was probably a controversial thing to talk about as not everybody would approve!!//

Clarkson was actually filmed eating ortolan (complete with the obligatory covering over his head ) in France for a BBC programme, but they have blocked it from access through YouTube.
I don’t see why that’s relevant to this thread.
Poor old Jeremy, everyone's against him. I wonder why, he's such a lovable arrogant fellow.
I like him.
I remember that, it didn't show Clarkson or anyone else actually eating one, you just saw May with a towel over his head and Clarkson's hand.
You might remember different

There was show years ago called Clarkson Meets the neighbours about the EUSSR etc, he had an ortolan then. Not sure why it's relevant to this post mind.

Barry, was it Leslie Caron?
It was! Memory failure again
It's so touching when a woman fancies a naughty lad. He might be a fibber but he's a card! He might be a cheat, but I like a man with spirit! He might be a dictator but I like a man with money and power over other women!
Good old Clarkie!
Wow! There’s a revelation! I’d have sworn you were male, atheist.
Naomi; never make assumptions. You might be missing out on things.
I missed that one, that’s for sure.
it doesn't cost half a million pounds to appeal a decision.
you dont need a team of 20 top people in the field todo so - what he meant was it would cost him half a million if he usedthose particular people. You can appeal yourself!
bednobs; He's playing the victim card!
From the way he’s been treated, bednobs, I’m not surprised he’d want the best representation money could buy.
Question Author
bednobs, In the program they were talking about an appeal to the home office, employing specialists in several fields preparing reports, top baristers etc etc, worst case was £500k, watch the program to get a proper idea. This was not a normal planning appeal because that would be pointless.
