No you just turn it on and connect to the net. It's just a smart TV set up for streaming sky.
Do you realise you can’t record anything with it?
Yes there is no recording capability, the idea is that you stream everything as needed.Of course not every program broadcast is streamable so I guess they are pre-empting the inevitable move to streaming being the norm. You can pause but only for 45mins. I'm still on SkyQ for now.
Me too, and I’ll take some convincing to change.
indeed ZM apart from anything else you have to buy one of their TVs to boot!
I think this is misleading on their website for Glass:
Recorded,
saved, sorted
With Playlist, you can record shows from Sky, BT Sport, Eurosport, Gold, W, and more. Or you can save a show to watch for later using the BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, and All4 apps. And it’s all in the cloud. So no need to worry about storage or clashes.

You can get similar without buying their TV

I can't find a straightforward answer to your question, Sky says they will only unbox it and take the packaging away but a review site says they plug it in and set it up, but only on a TV stand. They won't wall mount it.
In any case, it only needs connecting to your WiFi and it's done, connected to Freeview
It streams Sky, Barry, not Freeview. You’d need an external Freeview box connected to the sky glass TV to get Freeview. Although why you would want, I’m not sure.
So if your broadband went down you have no TV at all?
It will do basic Freeview I believe but you’ll need it connected to an aerial.
I meant it is connected to the usual free to view channels - BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 the same way any Sky box does.
If you connect it to the tv aerial you get the free channels but only if the tv is not connected to the internet - it's a back up for when the internet is down.
