Was any of this filmed in the UK? Seemed to have quite a few Brits in it.

I think it was mostly made in Australia and California. Australia was used for all three prequels since their studios are cheaper than Britain's.

Thanks guys

I'm not geekish on this subject, and may be wrong, but I thought I read in a magazine somewhere that the first prequel filmed in '97 was shot in England on the James Bond soundstage at Pinewood, so the James Bond film of the time (would've been Tomorrow Never Dies) had to move somewhere else.

The later two I'm aware of being shot in Australia, in Sydney I think. The Matrix was filmed there. I think that was how it was written about at the time... That Rick McCallum(sp?) was taking a leaf out of Joel Silver & the Wachowski brother's book and moving there. Although almost certainly this was planned out in advance.

I told a lie (i've been looking on IMDB.com), apparently Phantom Menace was filmed in LEAVESDON studios, not Pinewood. But in the UK.

Also, "Because the producers had already secured a release date, the production couldn't find studio space. They ended up shooting much of the interiors in a converted Asda (the British branch of Walmart) warehouse."

This has nothing to do with your question.

This does: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121766/locations apparently there WAS shooting in the UK in both Elstree and Shepperton.

Gah, that quote off of IMDB ("Because the producers...") referred to Tomorrow Never Dies. I'm sorry, I'm tired.
