Im sure many people will outraged by this. Frankly Im surprised he had the audacity to accept the offer to appear.
I was looking forward to Celeb BB but I wont be watching it now on principle. Sorry rant over!
I find it interesting that an entertainer who was at the very top of his profession is now so vilified, not because he ceased to be entertaining to millions, but because of events which took place in his home.
I would agree (as would MB) that he behaved badly at the time, but people do panic and behave irrationally at times of stress, and it has been proven that MB was not directly involved or responsible for the tragiv events that took place at his home.
Michael Barrymore has paid a high price for his irrational activity - in proportion, far more than a lot of people who are guilty of worse behaviour, and maybe he feels it is time to stop paying in public, and get on with his career.
Personally, I have always thought him to be a talentless egotistical boorish buffoon, but I was very much in the minority. My opinion of him as an entertainer remains the same, but I would not jump on the bandwaggon of hatred based on what the media have told me. I shan't watch CBB because he is on it - but then i never watched him before, so i am being consistent.
How many of the 'haters' and 'disgusteds of Tunbridge Wells' are confusing circumstances and media hype with someone who has paid the penalty for his actions?
Fair enough Andy - but it will interesting to see which direction his career takes after BB.
His legions of fans may well welcome him back with open arms.
I personally found his style nauseating and am weary of his constant self-pitying drink/drugs/marriage/boyfriend problems played out at his behest in the public spotlight.
