Or is it past it's sell by date?  I find it very false, everyone loves everyone else (not), audience making so much noise, it seems so dated to me.  But I am just a grumpy old woman ...

I watched last night...missed about the first 35 minutes.

It was better than expected ...only because the standard of dancing seemed high.  I try to tune out everything else...the audience, the gushing commentary...especially from Tess Daly. She sounds so phoney to me. I don't mind Claudia Winkleman.

I watched it last night for the first time for years.  I have trouble recognising some  of the dances (and I'm classically trained).  Much of the time there's more acting and gymnastics than dancing going on - but over all I quite enjoyed it.

Who was voted out?

Ellie there is no dance off until next Saturday

Thanks Floko, I didn't know that x

Too much mucking about before each dance as len Goodman used to say.

One couple were actually lying down on the floor in the middle of dancing.

I stopped watching a long time ago when it became obvious that all the celebrities had intense dance lessons the minute they signed up

I believe it's billed as entertainment as opposed to instriuctional or educational.

Personally I have my doubts.

In conclusion, run away with me Claudia, we can live off your residuals. x

Oh yes forgot about that awful Tess Daly with the wringing hands.  At least Claudia has a bit of a personality.  Wrings her hands as well though...

It's very popular, despite appearances on this thread ...

What was that with Tess Daly's trousers?

If I was going to watch it, it would entirely depend on who the celebrities (or,more likely, "celebrities") were.

Worth watching for Annabel Croft alone

I was dumbfounded that she's 57! Gorgeous woman.

I have been watching a bit more of Strictly than I have before. Quite enjoying it.

Was there a bit of a "to-do" about Angela Ribbon's high kick/leg split? Husband seems to think the photo was removed from the online newspapers, for some reason.

She's a trained dancer anyway, isn't she? It feels a bit unfair.

I think Les Dennis has missed out on the 'intense dance lessons', maybe he didn't get the memo.

I enjoy it, there were some good dances for the first week. I thought Nigel Harman was excellent

I look on it as entertainment and enjoy it though the over enthusiastic audience gets on my nerves. The judges do look for certain pointers in the dances such as hold and positions of feet but I suppose dances are like everything else and evolve.

Some of the celebroities have danced before and  had sone training. Layton gas been on stage in musi
