Ok We Heard That You Would Need Hd

This evening we have switched to BBC4 ( as usual, we watch little on any other programme otherwise) to be met with (effectively) you can't have it if you haven't got HD.

Baffled.  We have HD  on virtually everything else so our equipment should be OK.  Any ideas please.  Currently watching BBC1 in HD!

BBC is going to stop broadcasting BBC4 on SD channels from today. It will only be available on HD channels from tomorrow.

I'm further guessing that you've selected Channel 815, which is the BBC Four SD channel which has just been switched off.  You need to be going to Channel 116 instead.

My tv guide suggests it is Channel 106 on Freeview.

In case anyone stumbles in here and gets confused, it's only satellite transmissions which are affected by the change.  SD remains available on Freeview.

We are on Freesat. Channel 166 (ours is a weird TV - BBC is 77).

BBC4 is currently transmitted in SD on channel 9 and in HD on channel 106 (Freeview in England and Wales). From tomorrow it will only be transmitted on channel 106.

You will need a device with an HD tuner to receive it, either a Full HD TV or a separate device which connects to your TV via an HDMI lead eg, a PVR box.

You need Channel 108 on Freesat:

108 says 5 star and then 'no signal'.  We bought this when we moved here and the chaps from Dixons set it up and all we can now watch on BBC 1 is N. Ireland - we lost Look North.  None of thye numbers you read corresponds to anhything we  get. e.g. 77 is  BBC1,   75 is BBC 2,  88 is ITV  etc. and we've had to find these by trawling through 100s of programmes on List.

You clearly need to do a retune on your Freesat TV set (or TV box).

Make and exact model (from the back of the set/box), please?

^^^ That's why I need to know the make and model of the Freesat TV (or Freesat set-top box, as appropriate).  Then I should hopefully be able to find out how to carry out a retune.
