Very Old Tv Series - Can You Name It?

Another one of my totally pointless current obsessions that is occupying my mind.

The tv drama  featured a house with a cartwheel on the chimney that had a stork's nest on it.  I thought it was British but storks hadn't nested in the UK for hundreds of years until the early 2000s.   Although I did see one in Norfolk not far from a small zoo, it was an escapee.

Does it ring bells with anyone?

The Alsace region of France along the Rhine is very popular for storks, if that helps anybody.

Thank you, bhg.  I'm wondering now if it could have been one the programmes my children watched - Swiss Family Robinson or Heidi, maybe

It reminds me if the book I read at school The Wheel on the School by Meindert DeJong - not a tv series ever I think though

That seems to be a good children's book, it stuck in your memory so it must have been, ich.  I might find a copy for my granddaughter

I've never seen storks in Switzerland but the Alsatians think it brings good luck if they nest on their house so put up wheels or trays to encourage them.

How else could they deliver babies without a landing platform?
