The answer TTT expects is "Day".
If you imagine the sun sitting in space a long way away from us, then imagine that the earth rotates; from the earth it appears that the sun is moving in a big circle round the earth, thus giving us a period of light followed by a period of darkness - that's what a day is.
TTT is very clever, knowing all this stuff. Because he learned about it at the age of five, he presumes that everybody else did, and so if you claim not to know the answer you must either be 'thick' or be pretending to be 'thick'. He's not only clever, but also kind and empathetic and understands human nature.
