Sky On Smart Tv

Just bought LG Smart Tv and Sky remote works fine with it (volume channel, turn off etc.) but I cannot use it to switch on. Previously I pressed the Sky Home button and everything turned on.  Now I have to turn on TV with the LG remote and select Sky Q.

Is this me or is it normal?

I have the opposite problem. My Sky remotes will switch both TVs on, but not off. They are Sony Bravia and Samsung.

Thanks barry but I have already tried re-matching the remote to the tv and have even rang Sky but have no confidence in the final vague response that  " smart tvs tend to work differently"!

I have a smaller (and older) LG tv in the kitchen on a Sky mini box and Sky remote for that works fine
