Anyone heard of this book, which is about to be released as a film, apparently the man is a complete fraud and has been discredited. Anyone any opinions?

I've read the book and thought it was really good. I didn't know it was being made into a film though. I had thought it was a true story - would be interesting to find out if it is all just made up.

myron I read this book in 2 days over Christmas. I tend to believe what he is saying. Perhaps he may have elaborated, who knows? Oprah Winfrey is a big fan; if you get logged onto her website there are interviews with him. You must read it though; you'll never fear injections at the dentist again!

Hi folks thanks for replying. Apparently the visit to the Dentist is one of the things he lied about, along with several other incidents, e.g. the plane trip at the start of the book.

I have to admit it was incredible to read how high his pain thresholds were - I can't believe any human can withstand that. Perhaps he made it up, who knows?
