Anyone else think this was the most depressing film ever or am I just getting old and sensitive?!

LISAB, What was it like, I've been dying to go and see it but it only got 2 starts in the papers, is it scary?

yes scary but sooo depressing. The cinema shouldve been handing out nooses or valium on the way out. I reckon its worth watching for the shots of London completely deserted, very surreal but do be prepared for a bleak experience. Let me know how you find it!

I don't think you'er getting too old or sensitive, what I found depressing was the quite blatant product placement that went on. Did anyone else walk out the cinema with a craving for maltesers and a Pepsi?

I didn't think it was depressing - it's not real life! I also didn't think it was as bad as some of the reviews say. I thought it was entertaining, if a bit daft. The empty London shots looked great but would have looked a lot better if they'd been shot on film. I thought they looked a bit fuzzy and the fact that I could see the 'digitalness' (stop me if I'm getting too technical!) was a little distracting.

It wasnt real life???? Damn it, I thought I was watching a documentary...ok sorry :-) couldnt resist that. No, of course its only a film but that can still change your moods and I think it was the relentless nature and grimness that made me and my friends a bit blue afterwards. If it was real life im sure I would have killed myself anyway, who would want to survive in that nightmarish world.

It was quite depressing, but I quite liked the bleakness of it. Rather than a macho film, glorifying violence and the hero being whiter than white and saving the world for everyone, it felt like a more realistic response from the people involved. The product placement was a bit much, although to be fair, most people would ask for a Tango, rather than an orange flavoured fizzy drink.

I don't know about this film but I found "Naked" to be the single most depressing film that I have ever seen. Not to say that it wasnt an absolutely brilliant film and I recommend it, but I don't ever want to see it again!

I thought it was a cracking film. Yeah I take the point that it was a bit fuzzy but it was a nice change to see a big british film not in the Notting Hill / 3 weddings vain. I think it was bleak and depressing but in a good / entertaining way if you know what I mean. I'll definately be getting it on DVD when it's released.

It was a great film i thought, even though the ending was a bit anti climactic. I guess there wasn't many ways you could end it really coming to think about it. But here's one for you to spot on DVD or video: When, in the desserted London scenes the lead crosses the bridge towards the houses of parliament, in the long shot something or someone is scene walking the other way on the other side. It's fleeting but you should spot it. Whatever it is it reaches a lampost and then dissapears (probably due to digital trickery). Sorry if i've spoilt the most powerfull moment in the film for u. Blame the people in post production.

that has to be one of the most rubbish films I have ever seen in my life!!! a sort of stand meets invasion of the bodies snatchers but not in a good way. and that part when they arrived in manchester and the dad gets turned into one of the zombies from a droplet of blood from a corpse - i'm sorry, but do they not know that blood congeals when a person dies - it was just impossible and unbelievable and naff!!!
