Horror Film

This film must be atleast 12 years old. It was the first horror film I'd ever seen and I dont know the name of it! Basically it was a green "virus" type thing that could only attack in the dark and it cocooned people. It was set in the forest in some cabins. Made me terrified to turn the lights out for ages afterwards! Thanks in advance.

How about an episode of the X files.

In the "Darkness Falls" episode of the X-Files. Mulder and Scully are in the woods investigating the death of some loggers. They have to spend the night in a cabin where the generator is failing. There are some preshistoric bugs trying to get in the cabin. The bugs are glow in the dark green and have cocooned some of the loggers.
