Has anyone noticed a distinct lack of watchable TV programming on our screens of late?

Naturally, we are fed a coarse diet of

-hospital drama

-standard soaps

(both of which now feel the need to feature almost exclusively storylines about nasty people being vile to others, bullying, backstabbing, and vengeance)

-"celebrity" shows

-"singing" shows

etc.

is it me, or is it all cocckwash?

I'd disagree. I don't watch any of the sort of shows that you list, but am finding that I am having to be quite ruthless in choosing what to watch as there aren't enough hours in the day. Mind you, if I only had access to terrestrial TV I'd probably agree!

It is true. I made a concious decision around November of last year not to watch anything that wasn't in some way genuinely entertaining, or enjoyable, or educational, and about 80% of TV output got crossed off my list imediately!

Now, with the 'stars doing anything except what they are known for ...' it's gone up to around 90%.

I agree. Its got sooooo bad I've switched me sky box back on!!!!!!! so now i get 155 channels of crap instead of just 5!!
