they had a sex change and ran of to the circus to learn the trapezzee apperently .

I think the actors both died and the characters were killed off.

Percy Sugden (played by Bill Waddington) left the programme in 1997. Percy simply moved away from the area. It was believed that Bill Waddington was unhappy with the underlying storylines in the programme. Mr Waddington died in September 2000 aged 84.


Phyllis Pearce (Played by Jill Summers) left the programme in 1996. She went to stay with a friend and did not return. Jill Summers died in January 1997 aged 86.
