I took our friend Dot's advice and watched the programme tonight, despite Graham Norton hosting it! Ugggghhh!!!!

What I canot understand is, that all the couples put in great performances. Apart from the final couple, most of the marks fell in the 20-26 category.

Considering there are 40 points available for each routine, how come they are only getting aroud 50 to 70% of the maximum. They perform very well and surely are worth a lot more than they get.

Wouldn't it be a good idea if the so-called 'experts' got up of their butts and showed us how it should be done, and demonstrate what a full 100% performance is like. Or maybe even they themselves are just has beens or wanabees. Great show, good entertainment but definitely dodgy judges (2 out of 10) and a paethic host (zero).

By the way - good luck to Dot's Paul . . . .

If I remember rightly, it started out this way in the last series. As the performances improve, so does the scoring. To you and I, they all seem like great performances now, but you'll no doubt be surprised how amazing some of them end up. I'm sure the scoring will reflect that in later weeks. I'm sure last year, Danny and Jodie, and Joseph and Sadie got the maximum 40 points as the series progressed.
this is what the show has to do, encourage the improvement thru the time the contestants spend learning their craft in the mansion. paul rang me at work and he said he was having a fabulous time and really being spoilt! they have all got on well apparently but it is cleverly edited on the screen i think.

As mentioned, I assume the intention is for the standard to keep improving and by the end have two or three couples that are of a very impressive standard. Giving high scores now would make it less 'interesting' watching these couple improving and getting better marks. Am rooting for Darrien and Hollie and of course, Dot's Paul and Aravon!
