Title of the movie

at the beginning of 1980s I had watched a movie about the revenge of a rich man from his cheating wife and her lover. he had made them undertake the murder of her lover's wife's death , convincing them they would be free then. but they were sentenced life long, and the other wife hadnt really died. the film was set on a greek or italian island. Can anyone remember such a movie? thank you.. (sorry for bad english)
