Does nobody remember Duncan Dares? Where the intrepid Blue Peter presenter/bad stuntman, Peter Duncan would risk life and limb doin stunts and stuff really pi$s-poorly?
i have to say mark curry was the best of my era but also liked the others of my time....as they came before presenters were enstiled with the fact they have to shout at viewers. Diane louise jordan was good, anthea turner was just good to laught AT, and katie hill well....lets just say i was v annoye when found out she was getting married!!
The classic line up from my childhood was Peter Purves, Lesley Judd and the genius that is John Noakes. Foxiest presenter though has Janet Ellis - who is still much better-looking than that cat-eyed daughter of hers. :-)
Mind you, if you wanted really foxy presenters, you had to turn over to Magpie when your mum went into the kitchen for a fag. Susan Stranks? Jenny Hanley? Ooh, I was a right little perv when I was seven.
Ha ha ha! Simon Groom: "Are there any smokies in the area?" Ha ha ha!
I think my favourite would be Peter Duncan, although I grew up with John Noakes, Peter Purves and Leslie Judd. Michael Sundin was also very good, although he was unpopular with the viewers.
Im only 14 so i dont know many but it has to be Matt Baker! I met him when i was at a roadshow recently and managed to get his autograph! (only after i chased him madly, screaming his name!)
John Noakes was most memorable for me. I saw him crying when Shep died. That was so sad, and I met him once when he opened a new garage in Nairn. He was a lovely man.
