Name this film..... please help

hi, hope you can help. this is driving me nuts.

Can anyone name the film, its set in America and a company want to buy the property of a family because they want to demolish the property for a new complex and they are only ones left stopping the development from continuing. So the bad guy tries to burn down the property. During this 5 little baby robot allien things live up in the roof and when the property gets destroyed they rebuild it over night.!! god I must sound like a loon..... its quite old and has the old woman from fried green tomatoes!!

Please help.
