Another British film this one , there was only 2 people in it really , it was set in the aftermath of a nuclear war in a sheltered welsh valley where the radiation wasn't as bad but they both still got fairly ill.(a very unlikey story). the bloke was something to do with nuclear physics or something because he had a radiation suit , and at the end of the film he wandered off out of the valley because he fancied her & she didn't. Think this was Mid-80's ish.

I don't know about a film but it sounds very much like a book I read at school called 'Z for Zachariah'

Are you not thinking of the 80's BBC drama 'Threads'?

Just checked IMDB. Apparently 'Z for Zachariah' was made into a 'Play for Today' in 1984.

I saw the BBC drama before reading the book. Was very good.
