It's been examined so much, and frankly they're so brazen about it, that there's no point in pretending otherwise. They are a rip-off. OFCOM (the Broadcasting watchdog) and ICSTIS (the premium-rate telephone watchdog) are looking into it now and are likely to come down hard on them in the near future.
In November last year entered Quiz Call's quiz by logging onto their website and using their 'free web entry'. They called me back and I won 20 pound. I did the same the following day and won 50 pound. 3 days later I decided to phone them and finally got through at 10 to 2 in the morning and won 3000 pounds. 4 days later I kept ringing them and won another 400 pound. The money came through the wekk before christmas and so did my phone bill which was 1200 pound!!! Thay've now made it very hard to get through and one night about 4 months ago I tried and figured there was a con going on so I rang and emailed them complaining and they admitted that there had been a problem with their phone lines but hadn't told anyone. Thay gave me 60 free calls (which I used) and I've never rung them since.
