Interesting cross-section of opinion. I personally like Hammond and Top Gear enormously, and wish him a full and speedy recovery.
I agree the programmes become a bit "Cecil B de Mille" in recent years, but I like the fact that its opinionated, but not didactic thereby not presupposing a wishy-washy, consensual audience. And Richard plays his full part in this. Hammond is obviously an extremely experienced driver, but I feel in attempting stunts like this, one would need to be vastly experienced at travelling at very high speeds, (when things become psychological and margins of error decrease exponentially, requiring extreme skill, as well as courage and simple joi de vivre) - possibly more so than the RH?.
Anyway, as I said, get well soon Hamster.
