My husband got a Simon drew card for his birthday last week. It's one of these ones where you have to work out the film title from the drawing. We've got them all except one and it's driving us loopy. The picture is of a large duck or goose and standing seperately on the right is a group consisting of two small ducks and a turkey.
Come on ABers - someone out there must be able to get this! x

Birds ?
Question Author
Yeah, that's the first one we thought of too almc but it seems a little obvious. Simon Drew tends to think a it more laterally. Thanks for your help though, any ideas appreciated.x
Tried looking for the picture on the web - saw a load of others but not this one - I see what you mean about thinking laterally. I'll keep thinking and searching.

If you have no luck, drop Simon a line. He's a very pleasant chap - have met him (and his dog Plug) a few times in his studio in Dartmouth.
Question Author
Thanks, Quizmonkey, I might give that a go if all else fails and the amassed brainpower of almc and I remain stumped.
Is Plug the lovely black and white dog that appears in a lot of his drawings?
In an effort to find the answer I googled and found a spot the film card , but obviously not your one.
Trouble is now I need a couple of answers too!
The first is a picture of Siamese twins and a Queen playing card.
And the second is of a dirty face and then the same face with hair all over it.
Any ideas?
Couldn't find your one but will have a ponder. :o)

do you really want to know, galltin? Wouldn't you rather lie awake all night and mutter to yourself all day like me.:)
That is the same card we've got - it's double sided and the one that's bugging me is on the other side.
Yes, Plug's the border collie with the speckled nose. Our border collie made friends with him and they used to commune while we were talking to Simon...
You mean he had naughty spots (the dog that is) - did you know the more spots a border collie has the naughtier they must have been as puppies!
yinyang I REALLY want to know!!!!
It's quiteamazing how these things get hold of you isn't it?
Is the 2nd one Dirty Harry---dirty and hairy?
Oh rogerr , I bet that's it!!
Well done.
Still one to go - plus the ducks one.
Have you got a link to a pic. of the other one?--Might help me.
Question Author
Sorry Galltin. Didn't mean to leave you in suspense.
The film is the African Queen ( a- freak- n Queen )
Still not got the duck one!. Some helpful soul on Quizzes and puzzles suggested I look on the back of the card. D'uh!
:)
Hi Yinyang have you got a link to the picture--it's bugging us as well now!
Question Author
I can't seem to find a picture of it anywhere, rogerr. The thing is it's got puzzles on both sides of the cards and as the one I'm after is on the back of the card it's never shown.
If it helps any, the two small ducks are looking at the big duck/goose - so the 3 of them are all facing left, and the turkey is facing right. There is nothing else in the picture - just the four birds.
Welcome to my world of insanity!
Oh many thanks yinyang , I would never have got that in a month of sundays!
Still trying with the ducks etc. in fact I think of little else!

I think it is 'The Birds' as directed by Alfred Hitchcock. What are numbers 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 from the front, and 2, 5 and 6 from the back?!
This is what we've got so far.
Front:
1) Silence of the Lambs
2) Citizen Kane (Cities N Cane)
3) The Great Escape (Grate S Cape)
5) Dirty Harry (Dirty Hairy)

Back:
3) Barbarella (Barber L R)
4) Grease (Greece)
5) Pinocchio (Pin Oak E Hoe)
6) Duck Soup (Ducks Hoop)

Still got no ideas for 6 on the front and 1 (if it's not The Birds) and 2 on the back.

Haven't got the card to hand, JP, so this is off the top of my head having had my memory banks on this jolted back into life.
Is the one your stuck at the one with the siamese twins? In which case it's African Queen ( a -freak - n -queen)

Can't believe this thread is still getting responses after 18 months and we've STILL not got the answer to that ' fowl' question! : )
