why can deaf people only watch TV late at night or on sundays?

Demand. It's the only time of day / week when they can show such a programme without it eating into their primetime viewing figures. I think the Big 5 channels assume that everyone has some type of recording device so they can record these late night programmes and play them at any time of the day.

Hopefully with the 'on-demand' potential that visual media has for the future, there will be more dedicated channels and even downloadable content via digital / Satelite TV or Internet for deaf people.

Have you ever seen the guy standing there signing to a pop song - the music channels even sign at 3am - It's hilarious ! Just to see them try to cope with some of the mad lyrics going about is worth staying up for !!

It was most intriguing to watch the signed version of Deadwood. For those of you who dont know the show it has the highest swear count of any show on TV ever.
I now know the sign for f**k,c**t and c**ksu**er !
