This helps them builds on the imagined personna that she is miserable, she and David are unhappy, she is ill / anorexic / bullimic / weight obsessed and so on.
The fact is, the Beckhams are still together, and still appear to be happy - but that's not what the press want. Tabloid and feature magazines thrive on conflict - the underlying notion that being rich, successful and attractive still makes you miserable - which is what their readers want to read, it makes them feel better.

I think people should just leave her alone.
As a society we're far too obsessed with what's going on in the lives of other people, celebrities in particular. No wonder so many of them go off the rails. The minutiae of their lives is picked apart by the vultures of the press and readily lapped up by the ogling, gossip hungry masses. Yes I know most of them exploit it to further their careers but it's generally those that have no real talent and shouldn't be famous in the first place. We really shouldn't help build them up only to stand around poking the corpse of their career when the sadly inevitable crash back to earth happens.
Besides Victoria was the only Spice Girl I ever fancied.

Can I just say I couldn't give a hoot if Posh, Becks, Pete Doherty (Why is he in the news anyway apart from his and Kate Moss's apparent relationship) & anyone from Big Brother just fell off a cliff tomorrow - I'm not obsessed in any way with their sad lives - however it doesn't matter what paper you read or news you watch - it's thrown at you from every angle. Kate Moss - Supermodel - Posh & Pete Crackhead - singers ? - I think trades decriptions should be alerted for a start ! Why anyone should look up these sad people is beyond me.
