I wonder if you can settle a debate; in the vauxhall zafira advert, the one with the young boys in role reversal with their parents, where an indian family move next door, the father drops a vase the mother complains that her mother gave them that, the boys in agreement say what;

is it - oh they're tired
or is it - overtired

Definitely 'over-tired'

Chris
well you got a much nicer response than I did from the ad agency wallers whose concept it was, although it does clarify it:

Hi Tom and Lee

I wonder if you could settle a raging debate on the Vauxhall Zafira ad please.

Can you confirm if the boys are saying 'Over Tired' or 'Oh theyre tired'.

Understandably, this is of national importance, and an early reply would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Over tired!
Having debated the matter at length during a birthday Chinese, I was the only one determined to make the point that the quote was 'Oh! They're tired'. Amongst 14 (at times) frustrated now ex-friends who all agreed that it was 'Over-tired' I wouldn't back down. I was right. I knew I was. Plates were dropped, fights ensued, special fried rice fell like confetti.....

Now, sitting alone in my bed-sit, I can finally come to terms with the travesty that has occurred. I was slightly wide of the truth. I was not exactly wrong, and certainly won't admit to the fact, but accents are accents. The last 'post' here was 12 months + ago, so noone will notice, but, in very small print, in only a whisper, hardly discernable to the human ear, I'm sorry!

Right, lets go for a curry next time!
Thank you for listening.....a very lonely.....Pants and Sox.
